CanSkate

Due to COVID-19, our coaches will not be allowed to touch participants. Therefore, no PreCanSkate classes are offered at this time as we will only be able to accept participants into our program that can stand up and skate forward.  All participants in CanSkate must be able to recover from a fall independently.

Skate Canada Assumption of Risk and Waiver

All participants will be required to complete and sign an Assumption of Risk and Waiver. This form must be returned to CSOS prior to participation in any on or off ice programs. Failure to provide this form will result in the participant being asked to sit out the activity until a form is completed and returned.

Health Screening

Please self-screen prior to attending any classes or club activities. Individuals must not attend if they:

• Exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms, such as a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by health experts
• Have returned from travel outside of Canada (must quarantine for 14 days at home)
• Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days

In addition, each participant must complete an on-site verbal health screening questionnaire prior to each session. Attendance will be logged for contact tracing purposes and will be kept on file for four (4) weeks before being securely destroyed. Children and youth may need a parent to assist them during the screening process so please accompany your participant(s) to the check in area prior to each session.

Entry/Exit to facility

Participants may enter the facility no more than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled class and must leave immediately following the completion of their class. Please check in with the CSOS volunteer to complete the verbal health check screening.

Individuals shall use the designated entry and exit doors and follow the one-way flow patterns established by the designated facility. 

Please arrive to the rink dressed in your gear, ready to play. This includes skates with appropriate guards. There is NO access to dressing rooms at this time.  At the discretion of facility staff, parents may assist their skater in tying skates, and must leave the arena and return at the end of the session.

Please note, there is no spectator seating or viewing area available at this time. Please double check that your contact information is up-to-date in our registration system – this is how we will contact you if required.
