Refund Policy
No refunds will be given after the first fifteen (15) days of the start of the skating program for any reason other than illness or injury with a valid Doctor’s Certificate. Cancellation requests received prior to the scheduled start date of programming will be subject to a fee equal to 25% of program cost. All notices of withdrawal or request for refund must be received in writing. Refunds processed for cancellation are subject to the retention of the Skate Canada fee as well as pro-rated program and club fees, as well as applicable administration fees.
Refund requests due to unforeseen circumstances (such as relocation to another city) must be approved by CSOS executive.
Sessions lost due to Public Health Orders or circumstances beyond the control of Cypress School of Skating will be offered make up sessions when available.
Privacy Policy
The Cypress School of Skating works hard to respect and maintain your privacy. Personal information means information that identifies an individual. For example: an individual's name, birth date, address, or financial information.
1. Consent and Personal Information
CSOS obtains consent to collect, use and disclosure of personal information, except where inappropriate. In obtaining consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, the purpose for which information is collected, used or disclosed is either obvious by the very nature of the business or if not, we state the purpose, either at or before the time information is collected.
Personal information is typically collected and used by us for the club’s purposes such as registration, providing and servicing members and associates to related services such as testing/competitions. CSOS may also collect and use personal information for marketing purposes, such as photos in newsletters, on the website or in our display showcase. Your consent to this collection and use of your personal information is voluntary. You may opt not to have us collect and use your personal information for marketing purposes. If you do this, we will collect and use your personal information for Skating purposes and in accordance with our contractual rights and obligations, but will not use your personal information for marketing purposes.
2. Collecting personal information
Whenever practical, we collect information directly from the individual concerned.
3. Using personal information
We use personal information in accordance with the consent provided by the individual to whom the information relates, in accordance with these Privacy Principles, our contractual rights and obligations and the law. Personal information shall not be used by the CSOS board representatives for the purposes other than as required in the performance of their respective portfolios.
4. Accuracy of personal information
CSOS maintains procedures to ensure that the information we collect and use is accurate, up-to-date, and as complete as possible. However, we rely on you to disclose all material information to us and to inform us of any changes. You may with proof of entitlement, request to access and if applicable request that we correct information in our possession. You may make this request by writing to our office at the address set out below in Principle 8.
5. Safeguarding your information
We apply appropriate safeguards to our computer networks and physical files and we restrict access to personal information about you to those board representatives, our contractual rights and obligations and the law.
6. Disclosure of Personal information
CSOS sometimes retains an affiliated company or an independent third party to perform on CSOS's behalf, certain functions in support of the products and services CSOS provides. CSOS obligates these affiliates and third parties to use and take steps to protect personal information in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Principles. Your consent to the disclosure of your personal information to our affiliates for the purpose of offering you additional products and services is optional. You may decline or revoke your consent to this optional disclosure of your personal information by contacting in writing to the address provided below in Principle 8. If you do this, you will not receive offers of additional products and services, special offers and promotional mailings, directly from our affiliates.
7. Retention and access to your information
We retain personal information for both past, current and prospective members, associates and students to fulfill the purpose for which it is collected and to meet our legal and contractual obligations. If you have a right of access, you or a person authorized in writing to act on your behalf may, with satisfactory identification and proof of entitlement, request access or, if applicable, request a correction of your personal information which CSOS has in its possession. The right to access is not absolute. For example, you do not have a right to access and we may decline your request for access, if the information requested is subject to a legal privilege. We may charge a reasonable fee in advance for copying and sending information you have requested and to which you have a right of access.
8. Contacting the CSOS Privacy Officer
A request to access or correct your personal information, or should you wish to decline or revoke your consent to the use, collection, or disclosure of your personal information for marketing purposes, must include your name, address and Skate Canada number.
Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions are between you and the Cypress School of Skating ("CSOS"), the organization that manages your use of this website ("the site") and its content.
By using the site, you accept these Terms & Conditions of use. If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, please discontinue use of the site immediately. CSOS reserves the right to changes these Terms & Conditions from time to time, without notice to you. Your continued use of the site after any changes have been posted implies your acceptance of those changes.
It is understood that the certified coaches in the programs provided by CSOS are certified in Basic First Aid, and that any and all injuries, problems or accidents are reported to the coaches. Participants are encouraged to take responsibility for their well-being, and the Club agrees to take responsibility to follow up on any reported incidents.
Delivery of Goods & Services
All programs will take place at the location indicated at the time of registration. The club has the right to change locations and/or times of said programs, and notice will be provided via email and posted on the club website. We only offer products in the context of club events and services associated with the Cypress School of Skating at facilities indicated during the registration process. No goods or services shall be exported.
Payments may be made by credit card through our website or by cash or cheque in person. All transactions will be completed in Canadian dollars.
